The Gamecocks came up with a much expected victory on Saturday against Wofford. The first score came in the first quarter when Phil Petty ran it in from one yard out capping a 38-yard drive on five plays. Soon after USC's Weaver kicked a 25-yard field goal after a 29-yard drive in seven plays. USC struck twwice in the second quarter with two touchdown runs from Andrew Pinnock one for three and the other for four. Wofford finally struck in the second quarter with a one yard one by J. R. McNair which capped an eight yard drive in four plays after Derrick Watson fumbled the football. Another Pinnock touchdown run from four yards out was the only score in the third quarter. USC and Wofford both scored once more in the fourth quarter. With a petty two-yard run for USC and another McNair one-yard run for Wofford.
